Take the Pledge. Go Car Free September 22!
The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) encourages you to take the pledge! Go car-free on Chicagoland Car-Free Day September 22 and take public transit instead. By going car-free, you will help to ease congestion on our region’s highways, reduce air pollution, and save money.
For the 2010 Car-Free Day, the RTA is partnering with the Active Transportation Alliance, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra, Pace, and communities throughout our region to shine a spotlight on ways to get around without driving. We’re working together to get more than 4,000 people to take the pledge and leave their cars at home. By taking the pledge, you’ll automatically be eligible to receive special discounts from businesses like Sports Authority, Argo Tea and I-GO Car Sharing.
So instead of sitting in the driver’s seat on Wednesday, September 22, take the Chicagoland Car-Free Day pledge to leave your car at home and hop on a bus or train instead.
