  • Stop bus idling: When a school bus is waiting to pick you up with the engine on, it is poisoning the environment.  Bus drivers should turn off the engine when they are waiting for students to get on the bus.
  • Re-use school supplies: It is important to re-use your school supplies instead of buying new ones every year.  When you re-use supplies, you save money and help the environment.
  • Re-duce waste in cafeterias and classrooms: Try to bring your lunch to school in reusable containers, instead of paper or plastic bags.  This will reduce the amount of trash that you produce.
  • Does your school have recycle bins?  If not, you should tell your teacher that you would like your school to start recycling.
  • Start a “Waste Free Lunch Day” at your school, and encourage all of your friends and classmates to not have any waste for one day.  Make sure you talk to your parents about it, and let them know all of the great work that you’re doing to help the environment.
